New Year’s Eve? What to wear with K

22 Dec

Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.” -Oprah Winfrey

Hello all!

I was having a pretty slow night at work, and found myself thinking about my New Year’s Eve plans. Naturally, Julie and I are planning on dancing the year 2012 away and spending the night with our kick ass girlfriends, while toasting champagne in pumps and bold lips. I fly out to New York to spend the holidays with the beau and my family later tonight, and won’t be returning until the 30th, which gives me a day to find the perfect outfit. Now I know what you’re thinking! “What! You don’t have an outfit yet!?” No..I don’t. Listen girls, Christmas was made priority, and I had originally planned on ordering a dress from asos.com, however it wouldn’t have made it here in time; therefore I’m planning on winging it. (Believe me, I am a professional “winger” and I always pull it off beautifully)

Now, if I happen to have time to hit the city and dedicate a few solid hours on finding the perfect cocktail dress whilst in NY, I will take full advantage. However, I do plan on spending a majority of my time at home with my boyfriend and family, in New Jersey as well as Queens and Long Island. Don’t take me for crazy when I say this though, but..I am kind of considering wearing pants for NYE…Haha, I’ve just been so into the men’s wear inspired looks being rocked on the runway, not to mention, most recently on Gwen Stefani on the January cover of Vogue. Plus, might I add that my legs won’t be completely frozen walking out of the club after having a bit too much to drink.(insert flashback of NYE 2012 here…MESS)

Now I know what I face. I’m not as tall, I’m not as long and lean, and I’m not blonde, but you better believe I can pull off a great red lip and a sequin jacket!

What about this tee and skirt combo? I am in love with the edginess! Some pumps, a necklace and lashes! Yes please!

zaralook3I would LOVE to wear a bold all over print such as this one by Tibi, of course flawlessly pulled off by none other than Olivia.

I’m also feeling these 2 looks for NYE. Super chic and streamline, and the shoes do a lot of the talking. I just need a super bold statement necklace to complete these looks.

zaralook1zaralook2Do you think I’m selling out by not wearing a dress? It is going to be 2013 after all. Let me know what you think as well as what you plan on wearing to ring in the new year in the comments

Lots of love
